About Us... (Home)

Nightfall Games are the creators of SLA Industries, the role-playing game of futuristic urban horror.

On this site, you'll find all sorts of information about Nightfall and loads of free material for SLA Industries. Check out the 'Site Features' box on the left for the goodies. Inside there, you'll find some truly top-notch pieces written up by SLA players and GMs, along with supplemental material that Nightfall have produced but aren't going to get a chance to publish, and stuff that we've knocked up in our spare time. We're going to keep adding to what's there, so remember to check back often, and if there's something you've done that you'd like us to feature here, please do email it to us. Each submission or quote we add will earn you increased SCL, so register: it's free, and we won't spam you, I promise. Oh, and you'll find posters, t-shirts, signed books and all sorts of other lovely stuff in the web-shop -- follow the link in the top left corner.

Legal note: For items which are jointly copyrighted with Nightfall Games, only the HTML formatting and general SLA setting are Nightfall copyright; the actual text itself remains the full copyright of the original author. All the articles within the "Site Features" menu on this site are to be considered as unofficial material rather than canonical unless they say otherwise -- we haven't playtested, edited, tweaked or worked on them at all.

History

Nightfall Games was founded in 1993 in Glasgow, Scotland by Dave Allsop, Anne Boylan and Jared Earle. SLA Industries was released in late 1993. Wizards of the Coast took an interest in the company and purchased Nightfall Games in 1994, shortly after the release of Karma. It was Wizards who brought Tim Dedopulos on board to edit the line. When Mort was released at the end of '95, WotC closed all their role-playing lines, leaving SLA Industries to potential death. Luckily, fan support kept the game going -- particularly the SLA mailing list in its various guises (email station-analysis-subscribe@topica.com to join in the fray), and the fanzine "The Big Picture".

In 1998, Wizards of the Coast generously gave SLA back to the new incarnation of Nightfall Games. SLA Industries is now published and distributed by Hogshead, and is enjoying a new lease of life.
